About the event
The Chicano Humanities & Arts Council (CHAC), the City of Brighton, and The Armory Performing Arts Center are proud to announce Celebrar las Culturas (Celebrate the Cultures). This family-friendly event, to be held from 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM on October 3rd, 2026, at The Armory, is free and open to the entire community.
“In past years, we’ve held a Día de los Muertos celebration, which was very popular,” said CHAC Executive Director Brenda Gurule. “This year we’re expanding our celebration to welcome all Chicano/Latino communities in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.”
Emceed by local poet, actor, and singer José (aka “Jozer”) Guerrero (https://www.instagram.com/jozergmusic), Celebrar las Culturas will feature an early afternoon performance by Folklórico Mexico Lindo as well as a late afternoon performance by Mariachi Regional de Mexico (https://mariachiregionaldemexicollc.com/).
