Elizabeth J. Moreno

Biography
Elizabeth J. Moreno is a Colorado native artist whose practice includes photography, floristry, and gardening. Her work explores the relationship between color, nature, and art, drawing inspiration from biological processes and the natural world. She uses plants and nature as both subject and collaborator, allowing growth, seasonality, and the environment to shape each piece.
Introduced to photography at the age of 14 (1996), Moreno developed a visual language rooted in natural light, composition, and color relationships. Influenced by color theory and the color wheel, photography remains the foundation of her practice, guiding how she translates nature’s work into visual form.
As a florist, she applies these same principles to floral art. With over six years of professional experience and collaborations alongside notable Colorado florists, her arrangements are known for vibrant palettes and intentional color narratives. By combining botanical knowledge with color theory, she allows plants to interact naturally, creating artwork that is both expressive and meaningful.
Gardening is central to Moreno’s creative process. Working directly with soil, climate, and seasonal cycles deepens her understanding of how color and form emerge through growth, care, and time. Gardening connects her artistic practice to traditions of care, resilience, and respect for the land—values rooted in both science and cultural inheritance.
Today, Moreno is the founder of Garden Partea LLC and the president of the Mile High Garden Club. Through these initiatives, she demonstrates a commitment to sustainability, education, and community engagement, prioritizing locally sourced materials and environmentally responsible practices that integrate ethics seamlessly into her work.
Through her creative practice, Moreno remains in conversation with the natural world, emphasizing respect, care, and appreciation for the environment, and honoring the beauty of Mother Nature’s creations.
