About The Event

Kimberly Sanchez, author of Love & Legacy: Amor Eterno & renowned folk musician Elena Klaver explore the legacy/history of Sephardic Jewish ancestry in Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado. Experience Ladino music and stories of Judaic Southwestern culture. Sephardic Jews immigrated to Mexico from Spain and Portugal during the 16th Century to escape the Spanish Inquisition. The Crypto Jewish story is a saga of secrecy and persecution Temple Aaron in Trinidad, Co.

This event is a part of The Specular Saturday Series 2021, Heart to Heart Community Celebration hosted by Chicano Humanities and Arts Council (CHAC), Colorado Folk Arts Council and Metro State University Chicano/a/x Studies Journey Through Our Heritage.
