Flor y Canto

 The Chicano Humanities Arts Council (CHAC) and Art Contained Del Sol Collective presents: The Flor y Canto an ancient Meso American festival of life, flower and song. The Flor y Canto exhibit will be dedicate to long standing Chac Artist Rita Flores-Wallace. She was a professional folk dancer, choreographer, and teacher in Mexico and in the US. She is a traditional folk artist with papier-mâché, paper flowers, and her embroidering work. Flor y Canto exhibit  is a celebration of abundance and the renewal of spirit in Mother Earth and her people. Artists come together to create a garden of cultural affirmations to the past, present and future  It is a visual and oral reflection of our community.  Join our visual artists, storytellers, musicians and poets for this event.
