About The Event

CHAC Gallery is excited to announce the "Chicano Legacy: Past is Present" exhibit. Chicano Legacy explores the past, present and future of the Chicano Movement, our culture, and our community. Join us for our final exhibition and celebration in the 40 West Arts District before we return to the Santa Fe Arts District (CHAC will retain an artist studio in 40 West where different CHAC artist can feature their work). The opening reception is Friday, August 4th, 6 pm - 9 pm.  The exhibit runs from August 4th to August 25th.

Chicano Legacy is a journey through our community’s history, connecting the past of El Movimiento to our present struggles and triumphs. Established and fledgling artists explore our roots and envision our futures through paintings, sculpture, community installation, mixed media and more. Join us as we celebrate our community’s creativity and resilience with a live collaborative mural painting, unique artisan vendors, music, live performances, food trucks and more. Chicano Legacy aims to empower, inspire, and connect a diverse audience of art lovers and community members. This exhibit is curated by Sandra Santa Cruz, Tania Maldonado, and Micah Ramirez.
