SHOW STATEMENT:

I invite queer and trans artists of color to be part of Queerazón: Rooted in Amor y Comunidad—a group exhibition grounded in storytelling, healing, and collective care.

This show is a love offering—a space for us to be seen in our full complexity: joyful, grieving, soft, fierce, and everything in between. I’m drawn to work that explores identity, memory, ancestry, chosen family, belonging, and the everyday acts of care that sustain us.

As a queer Chicana artist and founder of Curioso Cats Arts & Crafts, my practice centers inner child healing, cultural reconnection, and making as remembrance. I envision this exhibition as a living, breathing space—one that invites not only reflection, but participation, connection, and collective creation.

Along with your work, please share a short reflection (1-2 paragraphs up to 250 words) about your process and the story your piece holds. How does it connect to Queerazón: Rooted in Amor y Comunidad? Feel free to speak to what moved you to create it—memories, identity, love, resistance, or moments of care and connection.
