This is a juried exhibit, but there are no hanging fees. This exhibit is only open to CHAC Members.

 SHOW THEME​:
​
​Unapologetically Chicano will be a mixed media show defining who we are as a group, as families, and as individuals. This exhibit will pull from a wide variety of experiences to report what has happened to us socially and culturally. Sculptures, paintings, photography, and other mixed media art, will reflect the evolution of us a people.

We are Unapologetically Chicano! Grandpa was a Mexicano and grandma was half Irish and Mexicana, another grandma was Italian and Puerto Rican, and we all have Native/Indigenous blood running through our veins. We are Mestizos and our arte reflects it. We are potters, painters, sculptors, photographers, and mixed media artists. We won’t be defined by borders or boundaries!

Bring your art that reflects your culture, family, and values for this one of a kind show and let’s blow everyone away with our best!! Chicano art is a unique form of art that has evolved over time to express the cultural, economic, and political struggles of the Mestizo people.

DEADLINES & DATES: 

Online Submission:  Aug. 28th at  6pm
Drop Off: Sept. 1st from 10am - 12 noon 
Pick-up: Sept. 29th 10am - 12 noon 

Fees: None

*Showing artists must pick-up and drop-off on scheduled dates


LIMITATIONS: 

  • Art must fit show theme: Chicano Art

  • Art must be family friendly 

  • No pieces larger than 16x20 

  • 2 pieces may be submitted (only 1 will be accepted due to space in gallery)

  • Art must be hanging ready (wired, etc. no saw tooth)

  • Commission is 30%

  • All entries must be for sale

  • Sculptures are welcome (height limit is 24")

  • Showing artists must gallery sit or pay $25

  • Must be a current CHAC Member

*There is no hanging fee


SHOW RULES: 
Liability and Responsibility, CHAC and its partners will take reasonable care in...

  1. Handling all entries but will not assume liability for loss or damage.

  2. A signed waiver is required for all entries.

  3. Showing artists must pick-up and drop-off on scheduled dates

Artwork Submission Process

Please ensure that you complete both steps.

STEP ONE:
Please click link in STEP TWO to make sure your image uploaded! If you don't have google if may not let you. If it did not upload, please USE STEP TWO TO UPLOAD YOUR IMAGES!
*By submitted you agree that images may be used for promotional purposes by CHAC Gallery

STEP TWO:

Please note, your images MUST be titled with your name and the title and dimensions of the artwork. (To rename JPEG files, right-click on the JPEG image on your computer, scroll down to ‘Rename’ and click, and then re-title your file with the correct naming convention).
